Artist's Statement on Landscapes "My landscapes are imaginary images based on actual sites. The images I portray reflect my interpretation of landscape as a moving and active force of nature through time. Elemental tensions are created and released, and the effects of this interplay are recorded on the surface of the earth. The landscape I chose to depict is the common ground we walk on, the woods or rock formations we walk through, unnoticed until we draw our attention to it. When visually walking through this paper terrain, viewers may be moved by these commonplace views, and may find that they can hold as much sublime beauty as any postcard vista." --Robert Pelegrin, 2007 |
